Winterfestival

This weekend, Adam and I have made several trips into the city to check out the Winter Festival happening in King Georges Square. As I also just received my new lens (45mm TSE) we though it would be a fun place to test it out... while eating pancakes and watching the young and old enjoying the outdoor ice rink.

Theres a certain kind of magic that comes with winter. I love it.
Now to continue practising... its been quite some years since I used a lens with only manual focus!

The Family part one

This past week, I have been spending time in the quaint town called Finley. I got to shoot pretty much the whole time, and it was so fun!

Along with all the shooting I got to spend time with my gorgeous family. My wonderful parents spoiled me as usual and I had plenty of one on one time with my amazing sister. She has 5 of the most awesome kids that I wouldn't know how to live without.

 Here they are...

First up is Anewa. She is the prettiest girl I know and the first of my 11 best friends under 13.

Then there is Hyrum. He is my muscle man and a bit of a hero to me.

Then comes Manaia. She is like a clone of me, in almost every possible way.

Then Ko Ko Kohan. He cracks me up with his amazing MJ moves.

Lastly.... Cherri Berri Cola, Cherish. The Boss, The Clown, The Heartbreaker and The Head of the Family.

I love these kids way too much, but they are only the start...There are 2 more BFF's in Sydney then another 4 (and one on the way) in Utah.

They all make the Plan of Salvation so real and needed for me. I could not imagine the eternities without them. I love all 12ish of my nieces and nephews.

Burst of craftiness...one day only!

Today I got a bit of a burst of creativity.

For AGES I've used my brothers old trumpet as a necklace stand and an old frame with some crocheted lace and hooks as a earring and ring holder.

I just purchased some new clips and brooches from a gorgeous store on etsy/west end markets and needed somewhere to put them... so i made this...

My new and improved clip and brooch holder!! the lace and ribbon are attached only at the back so i can slid clips on to them and the hearts are only glued on the side without the ribbon so brooches can be attached to the opposite side... there also a little hook on the side for the smaller necklaces that get lost on the trumpet ;)

Im definitely happy with the set and hope the newbie feels at home with its new pals. Now to move in to my own house so i can put them up instead of on the floor.... hmmm...

This is a sneak preview of photos and videos to come.

I took this just before sending off an invite to our wedding which we made on 7" records bought from a couple op shops in berrigan, labels made by yours truly and my side kick, and packaged with love :)

books books everywhere but not a drop to drink.

There is something about books.

Ones you can read, ones you can look at, ones that you can write in. They can inspire, make you cry, make you giggle, make your heart skip a beat, make you want to change, make you contemplate, make you smarter, make you want to write lists, make you want to fly... the list goes on.

This year, I'm going to use books to their full potential.

My oh my.

 (James, the groom to be)

On Saturday, a very very good friend of mine had a wonderful party. We were all able to get dressed up, including Sora, the bride -to-be, and James, her soon to be husband.

She will be getting married next month in Korea, and had a pre-wedding photo shoot and reception with a few of her friends here.

We went to Freestyle Tout, one of the most amazing dessert restaurants in the world!!

Adam and I shared a sticky date pudding with amazing caramel sauce and delicious vanilla bean ice cream.

It was a wonderful day, and I was so glad we could be there to help. We got to drive the bride and groom to be around for the afternoon.

I was even able to put some old skills to use and do the flowers for the day.

Adam and I had a great night together.

We didn't have enough money to buy a main meal too so while everyone was eating we walked around outside and admired the other restaurants and chefs at work..

We got some amazing quesadillas at GYG. It made me miss home and going to GYG in Newtown.

I'm even more excited for when Sora gets to go to Korea with James and be married for time and all eternity in the Seoul Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
